Stock Picks

for January 31, 2007
  1. PFE is now officially in the portfolio.  We expect good things from this stock.
  2. We got filled on our FCX right away.  Nice tidy profit.
  3. We are opening a new buy in Mittal Steel.  This company is undervalued and doing very well by many measurements.
  4. AMD continues to not defy gravity.  We are not going to chase it, but will buy more with additional weakness under 15.
  5. Our QCOM order is getting close, exciting to see it come this far, for this long, all the way to us.  Not there yet though, we miss them by pennies sometimes.

for January 30, 2007
  1. Issuing trailing stop sell orders on GS and FCX.  We will get back in these stocks if they come back around.
  2. Big day starts tomorrow for the markets.  Fed meeting and a ton of earnings the rest of the week.
  3. For our holdings, NYX reports this Friday and TM reports on Monday.
  4. The Fed report could be the big news for the markets depending on their view on the health of the economy.  Future guidance on growth and inflation could set the market off on either direction.
  5. We will wait to issue more buys until after the markets settle from the fed report.  Tuesday/Wed for more buys.  Especially since our portfolio is not full as it is and we are opening two more slots.

for January 29, 2007
  1. We reallize some of you may have not gotten filled on Pfizer at 26, so we will leave it as an open order for now.  Some of you may have been filled as it stayed at 26 for a bit of time, but maybe not long enough for those of you with brokers who pass your orders into an order matching or black box / algorithmic trading system.  Hopefully Reg NMS will fix this.
  2. Check out our new Commentary section.  Periodically, we will write an interesting article for you.  This one has all to do with P/E Ratios.
  3. We are watching the market and taking our time before issuing more buys or shorts.  Maybe some buys/shorts will be issued this week, all depends on market.
  4. NYX may be building another bottom, maybe not.  We will keep our buy open just in case.  Otherwise a march to 115+ is great.

for January 26, 2007
  1. Our portfolio held up pretty well in a broader market decline.  Too early to tell if the market is going to decline over a longer period of time, but a correction is due for some stocks that is for sure.  Housing weighed on market today.
  2. FCX continues to climb.  We are looking for the top on this one now and will sell as soon as it finds one.
  3. We were planning to issue some new picks this weekend, but we need to see what the market does tomorrow.  There is a chance we may have to wait longer.

for January 25, 2007
  1. AMD Average down filled at open price of $16.24...better than expected.  The downward pressure on this stock will not last, however, we are looking to exit at breakeven and then get back in lower.  We still love this stock long term, but selling pressure will continue for a bit before starting back up.
  2. Rest of portfolio is doing well.
  3. Will issue some more buys this weekend.
  4. Now would be a good time to take some FCX profits off the table if you are one of the short term subscribers.
