| Retail Sales Fall on Recession Fears -- 1/15/2008 |
|
Retail sales fell in December by .4 %. Why? Consumers have fears of recession, are seeing a detiorating job market, dealling with high enery costs, and their dwindling home value completes the doom and gloom. Citigroup released actual 4Q results which were dismal posting an over $9 billion dollar loss and announced the need to again, yes again, a need to raise capital. They cut the dividend. They are cutting jobs. and more. At 11 AM EST, the Dow was down well over 200 points continuing our theory that we saw a dead cat bounce. Our stock picks are declining but are still outperforming the broader market. Don't forget Steve Jobs presentation at MacWorld at 12 Noon EST. Apple is our favorite of the stock picks posting over a 45% gain for the newsletter. |
