General Electric results and IBM outlook had caused the markets to rally nicely this morning, but by mid-afternoon the markets had erased all gains and finally closed down.  Have we found a bottom?  Way too early to tell.  We have had nothing but negative news for a while, so the markets are reacting as you would expect them.  Everyone wants to buy stock picks at the bottom and ride the markets back up in the long term, however there can be false bottoms.  There can be a rally and then a retest of the bottom.  There can be multiple retests of the same bottom.  It is important to be careful right now because while we did predict 12,000 was the bottom back in August, 2007; we could easily be wrong and the bottom could be in the 11,000s.  Everyone wants another stock pick at the bottom and we have been slowly releasing them.
